Pictures

A reminder that pictures are Thursday, September 3. Forms have already been sent home. If you need another, they are available in the office. All students will be photographed for our class picture. If you have any questions, please let me know.

Musical Instruments

We are still in need of some dried beans, rice, duct tape, and masking tape to make our musical instruments. If you are able to donate any of these items, please send them in. Thanks

Reading Logs

Please make sure your child is filling out their reading log each evening. Students are to read 20 minutes nightly and write a short (3-4 sentences) summary about their reading. These logs are due every Friday.

Musical Instruments

Please keep sending in recycled materials to build musical instruments. Students will begin making their instruments next week. If you have extra items, feel free to send them in for students who are unable to bring things in. You may also send in rubber bands or tape to help with putting together the instruments. Once students have created their instrument, they will create a short video with the steps they used to make it. 

Fall pictures

Fall pictures are scheduled for September 3. Information was sent home last week regarding ordering pictures.

Math homework

There is no math homework tonight.

Hat Day

The National Elementary Honor Society is having a hat day on Friday, August 21. They are asking for $1.00 donations. The money will go towards taking a veteran to Washington DC on an Honor Flight.

Fall Fundraiser

The fall fundraiser kicks off this Friday. Look for information on Friday regarding the fundraiser.

Reading logs

Reading logs were sent home on Friday. Students are to read 20 minutes each evening for a total of 100 minutes for the week. I realize that life can get busy and there may be an evening your child might not be able to read. Please have them make up their missed minutes another night so that they have read their full 100 minutes for the week. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Spelling

Our first spelling test is tomorrow. Be sure to study tonight. The spelling contract is due tomorrow.

Homework

A reminder that students need to be completing a spelling activity each night for their spelling contracts. Spelling contracts are due every Friday.
