Mrs. Wechter Visits

She showed us a book from Switzerland. A lot of their books do not have words, but have very detailed pictures.. The children have to make up the story to go along with the pictures.

Mrs. Wechter showed us a St. Bernard puppy. These types of dogs are used in the mountains to help lost hikers.

Open university

Just a reminder that our first open university will be tomorrow after school until 3:30. This is a time for your child to do homework, get more 1-1 help in struggling areas,  or help with homework. If you would like your child to stay, please let me know. You can email me or send a note with your child.

We learned the parts of the ear today and had a chance to make a model with salt dough.

PTO help needed

The Avilla PTO is in need of helpers for the Apple Festival. The PTO works at the Park Street gate to collect money for cars parking. The Apple Festival is Saturday, October 4 & Sunday, October 5. If you are interested, please let me know.

Homework

Each night students should be reading for at least 20 minutes and filling out their reading logs.
Students will also need to complete a spelling contract activity.
Most nights, students will have a math home links paper to complete. If they don't have one, we will note it in the agenda.
